They invited me to create a large 3D photo opportunity, and piece to inspire the young chalkers. I used high quality tempera paint, so the image would remain as part of their festivities for a few weeks, despite frequent rain.

We were not able to use chalk directly on the ground, which made an interactive coloring book difficult. To solve the problem, I instead utilized a shingle substrate that did the job well.

I worked on a substrate as the weather was not cooperating, so I was able to finish it in studio after the event was rained out.

The owner of a local coffee shop and vegan restaurant envisioned octopus imagery for their newly renovated small bathroom. I came up with 3D concept featuring Bill Murray's character from "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," along with a menacing octopus hanging about the restroom. Glass paint on the mirror and faux wood graining on the drywall completed the illusion.

This client had recently purchased a new home and wanted to liven it up. They painted the exterior with a colorful Mexican motif, and had a blank wall space in front that they wanted to showcase with some artwork. I designed this faux window flower box mural to add some interest and replace her store-bought house numbers.

Daniel Day Lewis has always been one of my favorite actors and this is one of his most disturbing characters... the glass-eyed Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York.

A previous client contacted me to do this logo on the wall of their fitness center. Their primary color was gold, so I created this logo using metallic gold paint for effect. The color along with the "distressed" look of the logo made for a very effective centerpiece.

I created this large public art mural in association with the West Palm Beach Art in Public Places Department. It was painted on the side of a double racquetball court at a local park. This was one of a group of installations called, "15 Artists in 15 Locations". They wanted artwork that conveyed the theme of "coming back out into the world after a year of Covid-19 social distancing".

I had been catching up on episodes of “Parks and Recreation” and decided that man’s man Ron Swanson would be a fun subject. This was from an episode where Ron volunteered himself as a babysitter. I thought it probably looked like a lot of parents stuck at home with kids during the pandemic!

This client was opening a new fitness center and wanted to highlight their gold logo while also paying tribute to their namesake Greek titan. Atlas is lifting the world with a positive message in Greek lettering. The metallic gold paint used for the logo created a striking contrast to the surrounding grayscale imagery.

It was a two day event and rain nearly wiped away much of the art after the first day, but fortunately we were able to finish in the end.

We originally planned to create a large 3D image of superhero, Shazam, to coincide with the release of his new film. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we were forced to move to a much smaller space indoors. We shifted gears and created this 3D image of Arnold Schwarzenegger instead, in all his youthful, bronzed glory.

This festival was to feature a Beatles cover band playing a rooftop concert at the end of the event, so the organizers requested a Beatles image to tie in to the concert. What better image than a pic from their iconic 1969 final concert, performed on the roof of their London record company. The festival was inundated with near constant rain, but somehow we were able to complete the image during breaks in the weather. The only pictures were taken after dark unfortunately, as the image was washed away overnight, but we were just happy to have finished in the end.

We intended this wall-to-floor interactive mural to achieve the illusion of scaling a building with Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward). In the same way that they created the effect on the old television show, we painted the mural on it's side so spectators could easily pose for a photo opportunity. They could then rotate the photo to achieve the desired effect.

3D pavement art in tribute to the Febuary 6, 2018 test flight of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. Company owner, Elon Musk, sent his own Tesla car into space atop the rocket, piloted by a space-suited mannequin called, "Starman". The crowd had fun posing with him on the hood. We also did a "teaser" chalk painting during the local evening newscast - a 6-foot 3D SpaceX helmet.

This was a much smaller portrait than I was used to drawing, and the street surface was very rough, so this one was a real challenge. In the end I was pleased that it turned out as recognizable as it did! This painting earned an award for "First Place, Adult Category".

3D pavement art for the 2017 Chalk Fest at Arbor Lakes. We were a few hours from the birthplace of Judy Garland, so we created this tribute to Dorothy on the Yellow Brick Road. As a bonus, we picked up 2nd place in the chalk art competition.

I donated time to create this painting on a Little Free Library in Lake Worth Beach, FL. The libraries are scattered around the city, and the idea is to "Take a book, leave a book". I thought it would be neat to turn it into a home for wild animals, so I added a faux-wood design and a few four-legged friends.

For their Independence Day Festival, the City of West Palm Beach was using the image of a hand-decorated guitar in their marketing materials. They asked if we could recreate the guitar as a 3D image on the day of the festival. The colorful result earned the festival a Gold Pinnacle award for "Best Miscellaneous On Site Decor (budget under $250k)", at the 2015 International Festivals and Events Association Conference.
