A high-end shopping district in Doral was hosting a children's chalk fest day as part of their summer events campaign. They invited me to create a large 3D photo opportunity, and piece to inspire the young chalkers. I used high quality tempera paint, so the image would remain as part of their festivities for a few weeks, despite frequent rain.

We were not able to use chalk directly on the ground, which made an interactive coloring book difficult. To solve the problem, I instead utilized a shingle substrate that did the job well.

The owner of a local coffee shop and vegan restaurant envisioned octopus imagery for their newly renovated small bathroom. I came up with 3D concept featuring Bill Murray's character from "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," along with a menacing octopus hanging about the restroom. Glass paint on the mirror and faux wood graining on the drywall completed the illusion.

I thought it probably looked like a lot of parents stuck at home with kids during the pandemic!

Miami Zoo was opening a dinosaur-themed exhibit and wanted to promote it with a 3D mural at the Miami Airport. It was a two day event and rain nearly wiped away much of the art after the first day, but fortunately we were able to finish in the end.

This was a collaboration with another chalker, Aislynn Artist. We were invited to create a 3D street painting for the Colorpalooza festival in Lewisville, TX. We originally planned to create a large 3D image of superhero, Shazam, to coincide with the release of his new film. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we were forced to move to a much smaller space indoors. We shifted gears and created this 3D image of Arnold Schwarzenegger instead, in all his youthful, bronzed glory.

This piece was created on the golf cart path of a country club. The residents were paying no heed to stop signs and the owners feared an accident. In lieu of a speedbump, they wanted a piece of art to help bring attention to the stop signs and slow down traffic at the intersection.

We were happy to be invited back to the Pinecrest Gardens Fine Arts Festival. We had planned to create a 3D image in the Gardens, but Mother Nature had other plans. A rainy weekend found us indoors, chalking this macro image of a sleeping cuckoo wasp in their gallery space instead.

This was my first time painting on fabric. I hand-painted these Studio Ghibli-themed Converse All-Stars sneakers. An homage to director Hayao Miyazaki, they feature the films "Castle in the Sky," "My Neighbor Totoro," "Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro," and "Pom Poko."

Shortly after the death of the great Stan Lee, it seemed fitting that I chalk this image as a tribute. The theme for this event was "Inspiration", and there are few who have inspired more artists, children, comic book lovers, movie-goers, and daydreamers than Mr. Marvel himself. This painting earned an award for "Best of Show".

The theme for this festival was "entertainment" so we decided to do something a little fun. This interactive 3D piece featured circus fleas, including a clown, a lion, and a unicyclist, among others. Festival-goers could pose like they were sitting on a ball among the bugs while a magnifying glass zoomed in on the fun.

This piece was created for Zoo Miami to promote a series of after hours events called Sip and Stroll. Their October event, “Zootoberfest” was to feature the Everglades section of the zoo, so I designed this interactive piece with that in mind. Spectators were able to pose on the rock and “feed” the hungry pelicans.

This festival was to feature a Beatles cover band playing a rooftop concert at the end of the event, so the organizers requested a Beatles image to tie in to the concert. What better image than a pic from their iconic 1969 final concert, performed on the roof of their London record company. The festival was inundated with near constant rain, but somehow we were able to complete the image during breaks in the weather. The only pictures were taken after dark unfortunately, as the image was washed away overnight, but we were just happy to have finished in the end.

We intended this wall-to-floor interactive mural to achieve the illusion of scaling a building with Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward). In the same way that they created the effect on the old television show, we painted the mural on it's side so spectators could easily pose for a photo opportunity. They could then rotate the photo to achieve the desired effect.

We designed this mural for a nursing home, with the intention of creating a bright, uplifting environment. We provided bonus entertainment for the residents as they got to watch us paint. The main mural was next to an outdoor patio, and we also painted five other butterflies at strategic places among the buildings.

3D pavement art in tribute to the Febuary 6, 2018 test flight of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. Company owner, Elon Musk, sent his own Tesla car into space atop the rocket, piloted by a space-suited mannequin called, "Starman". The crowd had fun posing with him on the hood. We also did a "teaser" chalk painting during the local evening newscast - a 6-foot 3D SpaceX helmet.

Had some fun with spray chalk at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival 2018. The festival was in a public park, so they wanted something temporary, that would not permanently deface the grass. The main piece was a 3D text image that spectators could pose with. I also created a few games in the kids section, including hopscotch and Twister.

Chalk portait of Helena Bonham Carter, as Bellatrix Lestrange, from the "Harry Potter" movie series. This was a much smaller portrait than I was used to drawing, and the street surface was very rough, so this one was a real challenge. In the end I was pleased that it turned out as recognizable as it did! This painting earned an award for "First Place, Adult Category".

For their Independence Day Festival, the City of West Palm Beach was using the image of a hand-decorated guitar in their marketing materials. They asked if we could recreate the guitar as a 3D image on the day of the festival. The colorful result earned the festival a Gold Pinnacle award for "Best Miscellaneous On Site Decor (budget under $250k)", at the 2015 International Festivals and Events Association Conference.

The crosswalk that we created across the street fooled many passersby who thought that it was the real thing. This image was featured by CNN for the cover shot of a web spotlight on street painting.
